John Flanagan

John Arthur Flanagan, age 66, passed away peacefully on the evening of

May 6, 2026. John was born on June 30, 1959, in Chicago, IL to William

and Eulalia Flanagan, and then moved to Oak Park IL, where he lived for

most of his life.

John was a private, gentle, kind man who was dedicated to his work,

and deeply loved his friends, his family, and music.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Eulalia, as well as

three of his brothers: Steve, Mark, and Robert. He is survived by his

beloved friend/partner Velma Pettis, his brother Bill (Delores, RIP),

sister Patricia (Henry, RIP), and brother Mike (Sue) as well many nieces,

nephews, cousins, grand-nieces/nephews, and many dear friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
