John Thompson Ledr, 62, of Mundelein and formerly of Glen Ellyn, passed away unexpectedly on June 15, 2020. Beloved husband of Margaret "Peggy" for 15 years. Loving father of Sara, Johno, Kaitlin, Jaemeson, and Jordyn. Cherished son of the late Otto Richard "Dick" Ledr and Helen Rasmussen Ledr. Special cousin of Joy (nee Rasmussen) and the late Jeff Cole, and Josh and Melly Cole. Valued brother-in-law to Diana and Rich Wolenberg, Jim and Kathleen McManus, Frank and Lisa McManus, Charline McManus and Sergio Chapa, Elaine and Steve Notaro, Joe and Amy McManus, Chuck and Valerie McManus, Dan McManus, Pamela McManus and Derek Jones. Treasured uncle to Austin, Sophia, Isabella, Ava, Selia, Ana, Elena, Ella, Emma, Nina, Cheyenne, Charlee, Malia, Liam, Mateo, Charlotte, Mariah, and Lilianna. John was also a legendary friend to so many. "I lost my best friend, and the greatest man my children ever knew...he was doing what he loved: digging in the dirt and making someone's surroundings beautiful. It happened quickly this past Monday afternoon with his loyal worker and compassionate client family praying over him as the paramedics tried to revive him.
