Korean Army Veteran John McFarland, 86, of Altoona, PA, San Ramon, CA, and Reno, NV passed on April 8, 2024.
John was the loving husband of Sally who he was married to for 49 years, He was the loving father of Beth (Mike) Vipond, Sean (Cathy) McFarland, Dana (Larry) Weight, and Scott Campanaro. He was the adored brother to Katherine (Jim) Bonerigo, Patrick (Sue) McFarland and Emily Weight. He was the loving grandfather to Nick (Yolanda) Vipond, Hannah Vipond, James McFarland, Michael McFarland, and Emily Weight.
John was a proud US Army Veteran who served in Korea. He was a longtime employee of the Union Pacific Railroad. He was also President of the Altoona Jaycees and was an actor at the Altoona Theater Company. He was very much loved by his family and friends and will be missed by many.
