John Paul Velasco

John Paul Velasco, 52, of Arlington Heights passed away suddenly from a heart attack on December 14, 2021. Beloved son of Bunny Velasco and Paul (Marie Carmen) Velasco. Loving Husband of Stacy (Hussar) Velasco. Son-in-law of Steve (Bev) Hussar, Brother-in-law of Scott (Christy) Hussar, Kim (Joe) McGing, Wendy (Brett) Garland, Jodi (Andy) Compton, Uncle to Jackson, Jenna, Travis (Hannah), Casey (Emily), Tyler (Ashley), Carly, Cody, Carson, Michael (Marie), Kaleigh (Vinnie), Connor, MaeLin, AJ, Trey, Drew, Luke.

His mom raised him as a best friend which included a loving nickname he gave her of "Fred". They lived in Chicago giving him the love of diversity that only a big city has. His dad would take him on long rides out in the country taking the back roads. He always loved and looked forward to those rides saying that it was the way to see the natural beauty of this country. Within the years after high school, he worked as a pressman at the Chicago Sun-Times until it was sold. He lived in Michigan, Oregon, and Louisiana, he enjoyed the experiences and beauty of those states...but his heart belonged to the Midwest. Chicago was home and is where his family and first love still lived. He met Stacy in high school and dated during his senior year. Years later they reconnected and married in 2011. He was over the moon in love with his new family. A mom and dad that he admired and looked up to. Excitement of getting a brother and 3 sisters plus spouses that welcomed him with open arms filled him with even more love than he could imagine. Nephews and nieces, 16 in all, that he adored and was beyond thrilled when they started called him Uncle John. The memories of how big he loved will live on in the hearts that loved him.
