John Lewis Williams, a beloved figure in his community, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on July 3, 1943, in Meridian, Mississippi, John was a dedicated self-employed contractor who built not only structures but also lasting relationships with those around him. His sharp sense of style marked him as a sharp dresser, always presenting himself with a care that mirrored his personality.

Throughout his life, John exemplified a caring nature that drew people to him. He was committed to his faith, loving the Lord deeply, which guided him in his interactions with others. In addition to his work, John found joy in listening to music, particularly gospel, which brought him peace and inspiration throughout his life.

John's legacy will be carried on by his loving family. He is survived by his children, Lapellia Williams, Eugene Ratliff(step son) Dawn Williams, Carolyn Williams, and April Williams. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Japella Brooks, Harold Brame, Maria Williams, Joshua Williams, Marlon Ratliff, Sade Ratliff, and Dakari Fields. John's siblings, Gloria Nash and Ronald Williams, remember him fondly and carry his spirit within them.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Otha Jr., who has rejoined him in eternal rest. John's life was a testament to the values he lived by, and he will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His contributions to his family and community will be remembered with love and gratitude.
