JohnL Ivory "Teddy Mack"

February 15, 1951 — October 17, 2021

The Life & Legacy of JohnL Ivory (a.k.a. Teddy Mack)

JohnL (Teddy Mack) was born to the late Willie B. Ivory and L.V. Ivory on February 15, 1951, in Stoneville, Mississippi. He attended John Marshall high school in Chicago, Illinois. He accepted God as his Lord and savior at an early age at Greater White Stone Missionary Baptist church under the leadership of Pastor A.R. Williams.

He lived life to the fullest! Loved to dress, dance to R&B and Jazz, and was a true people person, to know him is to love him. In 2019 he became a faithful member of the Repairers of the Breach Ministries until he went home to be with the Lord under the leadership of Pastor William T. Johnson Jr.

His work ethic has always been diligent. One of his favorite jobs was driving for Pace, every day he had the opportunity to meet and connect with new people and drive around the city of Chicago.

JohnL leaves to cherish his memories: his sisters, Geraldine Ivory- Johnson, Vorncie Ivory-Washington (Charles), Juanita D. Holloway (Ronnie). His children: Terrence Moore (Rita), Tyrone Ivory Krisor, Marisa Cousins (Dwight), Joanelle Roby, JohnL Ivory Jr. Eleven grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and extended family.

Our beloved Teddy Mack transitioned into the arms of the Lord on October 17, 2021. His dedication and love for his family will forever be remembered.

Excerpt from one of his favorite songs, “Smiling Faces Sometimes" by The Undisputed Truth.

The truth is in the eyes 'cause the eyes don't lie, amen

Remember, a smile is just a frown turned upside down my friend

So, hear me when I'm saying

Smiling faces, smiling faces……. .

Remarks by Pastor William T. Johnson Jr., Repairers of the Breach Ministries

To my beloved brother,

You and I had a special bond that we have shared in the latter years of our lives. I want you to know while you are resting in the arms of God, that I will always love you. Your work down here is done, so get your rest in the arms of God! I’ll see
you again soon.

Love always from your Big “Sis”

My brother who I have always loved and respected. My brother who always protected me and gave me advice on how to be better than yesterday. My brother who always thought I didn't drive fast enough. My brother, who told me to accept people for who they are and not who I think they should be. My brother who I will always love and miss. To my brother, I am now speeding and safe.

Vorncie

“A Good Man”
I remember our talk about Mama, during her last moments she told you how proud she was that you changed your life, her prayer was to see you clean before she made her transition, and she did. You always said, “Nita, I’m trying to be a good man.” You’ve seen me grow and I’ve seen you grow into that Good Man. I’m going to miss our goodbyes.

Love you from your baby sister
