Jose Cervantes, Sr

Jose V. Cervantes, Sr., of Rosemont, passed away on August 12, 2026, at the age of 87. He was born on October 22, 1938, in the Philippines, and lived in Hagonoy Bulacan before making his home in the United States.

Jose was a longtime part of the household he shared with his daughter Jocelyn and her family. For many years, Jose, Jocelyn, and her eldest daughter lived together, and he played an important role in helping raise his granddaughter and caring for the home. His presence gave Jocelyn the opportunity to work toward a better life for herself and her family, while allowing them to share many years together under the same roof.

Before coming to the United States, Jose worked as a jeepney driver in the Philippines. He enjoyed watching The Price Is Right, Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune, and spending time with his family.

Jose was the father of Nolette (Joy), Jose (Sheina), Josefa, Peachy (Ray), and Jocelyn (Peter), and grandfather of Nikki, Roni, Bernie, Aubrey, Abigail, AJ, Amara, Araya, Victoria, Nessette, Louis, Eloisa, Cedric, Lite, Storm, Olive, Sam, and Alex.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 20 years, Cossette.

Jose is also survived by his siblings Estelita, Carmelino (Cornelia), Corazon (Restituto), Teresita (Mario), Juanito (Lourdes), Romeo (Erlinda), and Rolando (Gloria).

A private family viewing will take place on Thursday, August 20, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
