Trafford, Pennsylvania

Joseph J. Baric, Sr., age 96, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Joseph “Joe” was born January 30, 1930 and raised his family, in Trafford, PA. Later in life, a move to Cary, North Carolina, allowed him and his wife to get out of the colder weather while still being close to other children and grandchildren that lived there. In his later years he stayed with, and was cared for by each of his children, which allowed them to have very meaningful time together and make treasured memories. Finding joy in life’s simple pleasures, he was an avid reader and gardener. He loved telling jokes and sharing stories, often ending with a belly laugh that was contagious. His humor and lighthearted spirit brought joy and warmth to all who knew him. During his professional career he worked as an editor at the Trafford Westinghouse Printing Division. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1948 to 1950. Joe, together with his wonderful late wife Mary, raised a beautiful family of seven children: Jean Baric Parker (the late Kevin), Mark Baric (Jan), Christine Gianni (Rich), Thomas Baric (Karen), Carol Baric Tarnow (Greg), Joseph Baric, and Robert Baric. His legacy continues through his 28 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren all of whom brought him immense pride and joy. Joe will be remembered for his gentle soul, deep faith, laughter, kindness to all he met, and stories that will continue to echo in the hearts of his family for generations to come.
