Joseph Fefegula, 72, of Sierra Leone passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 surrounded by family. Born April 3, 1946, in Sierra Leone, he was the son of Jonathan and Amie Fefegula. He left Sierra Leone and moved to the United States where he was determined to create a legacy. In Bladensburg, Maryland he met the love of his life, wife, and mother of his children Diana. He served as secretary and president for the Washington DC chapter of Tegloma organization. After 40 years of hard work, resilience and perseverance, he retired from his career as a private investigator and security officer in Atlanta, Georgia.
After retiring, the last 10 years Joseph devoted his time to serving God, spending time with his twin daughters and three grandchildren. He was a loyal husband, an outstanding father, loving grandfather, supportive and selfless brother, cousin, uncle, and friend to many.
Joseph enjoyed traveling the world visiting multiple continents and fluently speaking five languages. He loved to get dressed up and spend time with family taking photos. He was a God fearing man who enjoyed going to church, cooking, music, and was extremely competitive in any activity to include soccer, volleyball, swimming and others.
He is survived by his two sisters Finda and Abie Fefegula, his twin daughters Janet and Jestina Fefegula, grandchildren Savonte Fefegula, Jevasiah Fefegula, and Jemaal Fefegula, and many others. He was preceded in death by his parents.
