Joseph James King

Joseph James King, 70, entered into heaven on Tuesday, February 13, 2023.

Joe was born to Dorothy and Paul King on May 9,1952. He married Sharon Grummel in September 1989. Joe and Sharon lovingly raised their son Jonathan together. Joe was self-employed in the roofing business. Joe enjoyed fishing and hunting with his friends and his son, Jon. Joe also liked to watch cowboy and western movies and also enjoyed reading cowboy and western novels. His favorite saying was ' I'm a cowboy ', and then gave us a wink.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife Sharon, his parents Dorothy and Paul King and brother-in-law Richard Fiala and sister-in-law Terry Grummel.

Joe is survived and will lovingly be remembered by his son Jonathan, his 3 sisters and their spouses, Janice (Daniel) Wilkans, Cynthia (and late Richard) Fiala, Kathleen (Howard) Thompson Jr., and many cousins; Uncle to 7 (nieces and nephews) and great-uncle to 9. Joe is also survived by his special friend, Verda Myers. Joe will also be remembered by his many friends and acquaintances.

Joe is also survived by Sharon's family, brother-in-law Russell (Debbie) Grummel, brother-in-law Gregg (Kathy) Grummel, sister-in-law Nancy (Jim) Volpert, sister-in-law Chris (Joe) Garcia and William Grummel; Uncle of 7.

A Memorial Service for Joseph J. King on March 7, 2023 at St. Hubert Catholic Church, 729 Grand Canyon St, Hoffman Estates, IL 60169. Visitation from 9:15 to 10:15 with a mass from 10:30 to 11:30.
A luncheon will immediately follow the service.
All attendees will have to pay for their own lunch.
