Joseph P. Lewand

April 30, 1942 — September 6, 2021

Joseph P. Lewand, 79, passed away peacefully at home after a long and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia (LBD) on September 6, 2021.

He was the loving and devoted husband for 56 years of wife Terry (nee Sutor), and dear father of Joseph (Teri), Daniel (Samantha), and David (Jennifer). He was the proud and cherished Papa of Andrew, Sarah, Kevin, Sierra, Nick,Emily, Jett, Ryan, and Owen.

Born April 30, 1942, in Chicago to the late Joseph and Mary, he is also survived by his loving sister Rosemary (the late Donald) Argus. He was a fond uncle, brother-in-law, and friend to many.

Joe was a longtime member of St. Thomas Becket Parish, contributing countless hours toward his church community.

Joe is now with his Eternal Father in heaven, and will finally know his father Joseph Sr., who was killed in combat in WWII. Joe was a graduate of St. Patrick High School, Loyola University, and Northwestern Kellogg School of Business.

Visitation will be at 10am on Friday, Sept 17, followed by an 11am Mass at St. Thomas Becket Church,1321 Burning Bush Ln., Mt. Prospect. Private interment at All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to LBDA at https://www.lbda.org or your favorite charity.
