Julia A. Bryant, 78, died peacefully on Thursday, December 17th, 2020. Born on March 16th, 1942, in Lake Forest, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie C. and Elizabeth (Bakke) Ferris and baby sister, Claire.
Julie was a 1960 graduate of Lake Forest High School. Following graduation, she attended Ohio Wesleyan and graduated from Augustana College of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois. Julie worked in several area hospitals, including Lake Forest Hospital, she loved helping people. In 1968 Julie married Peter L. Bryant and had two daughters, Lori Elizabeth in 1970, and Katherine Reid in 1973. Julie lived in Lake Bluff and Lake Forest for most of her life and had a love for each of these towns. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and often involved in many volunteer organizations at the church and within the community such as, PTA, Women’s Club and Garden Club. Her faith developed further by her involvement at Marytown, leading her to join the Catholic church and becoming a member of St. Joseph Catholic church in Libertyville, Illinois.
Julie was a skilled seamstress, pianist, flutist and cook who loved to share these gifts with her family and friends. She had a gift for engaging others and she never met a stranger, they always became her friend. Julie’s quick wit, sharp intelligence, giving nature, and a good sense of humor always made others feel welcome. A love for animals, gardening and water, whether it be, Lake Michigan, the ocean or vacationing in Door County, Wisconsin were some of her happiest places. Proud Grandma and Aunt she loved talking with and about her family.
Julie’s greatest joy was in spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. She loved spending time with her sister, Lynn Twitty, and her family when they came into town, especially her nieces and nephew.
She is survived by her former spouse and their loving children, Lori (Andy) Reynolds of Bay Village, Ohio and Katie (Steve) Pliszka of Aurora, Illinois; grandchildren, Reid Reynolds, Reilly Reynolds, and Avery Reynolds. Julie is also survived by sister Lynn (Dennis) Twitty, nephew Jon (Lesley) Twitty, nieces Elissa (Josh) O’Keefe and Stephanie (David Tricio) Twitty. Julie is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews who brought her much joy.
A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
