Kerry Haight Hart

Kerry Haight Hart, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, died surrounded by the love of the family to whom she devoted her life.

Born December 7, 1949, in Milwaukee, Kerry was the daughter of William and Margaret Haight. She attended Bay View High School, where she was cheerleading captain and Honor Society member, and later graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Stout where she majored in Fashion Merchandising.

Kerry began her career in fashion, working for The Limited and Mary Walter. She later devoted herself to raising her three children before spending many years managing a doctor's office.

Kerry was defined by her extraordinary kindness, creativity, and devotion to family and community. She had impeccable style, loved gardening, puzzles, reading, music and dancing, and believed everyday life was worth making special. She filled her children's lives with imaginative celebrations, handmade creations, encouragement, and unconditional love. She loved her Evanston community and treasured friendships and connections made throughout her life.

Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored.

Kerry is survived by her children, Alicia (David), Lucas, and Tyler (Jessica) and their father Mike Hart; grandchildren Charles, William, Noah and Micah; siblings Tom and Laurie; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Bob and Pat.

Kerry will be remembered for making people feel cared for and ordinary moments feel special. More than anything, she made her family feel safe, supported, and unconditionally loved.

She was, quite simply, the greatest mom.
