Kevin Asbury

Kevin Lee Asbury, age 46, of Yates City, Illinois, formerly of Abingdon, Illinois, passed away on June 11, 2026.

Kevin was born on May 9, 1980. He was the beloved son of Carolyn Lane and the late Ira Asbury, and stepson of Dorothea Asbury. He was also a cherished grandson of Roberta West.

Kevin shared 12 years of marriage with his wife, Melissa Ann Asbury (née Richardson). He was a devoted father to Austin (Alexis) Asbury, Rosemary Irvin, Amber Asbury, and Laila Irvin.

He is also survived by his siblings, Mary Asbury, Amanda Asbury, and Heather (Sanjeev) Choudhary.

Kevin was a graduate of ROWVA High School and worked at Transportation Security Administration and later with the Illinois Department of Corrections at Illinois River Correctional Facility.

He enjoyed watching Dallas Cowboys football, WWE wrestling, spending time with his family, and attending church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Kevin’s memory to Northwoods Community Church, The Harvest Church of Canton, or the Cancer Care Center of Peoria.

Celebration of Life will be held on June 26, 2026 from 2p-8p at the Yates City Community Center.
