Laura Battista

Laura Battista (nee Carbonara) beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 17, 2026, just three days shy of her 80th birthday. Born on June 20, 1946, in Triggiano, Bari, Italy. Laura lived a life full of love and dedication to her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Luigi, who stood by her side through all of life's challenges and joys. Laura was a devoted mother to her children Mena Williams (the late Mark) Maria Lunz(Tim), and Michelle Battista. She took immense pride and joy in her grandchildren—Antonella, Anthony, Nico, Joey, Vinnie, and Aria, and to her great-grandchildren, Luka and Aj who brought tremendous happiness. Beloved daughter of the late Giuseppe and Maria carbonara. Dear sister of the late Rocco (Marissa) Sarah (the late Vito), Anna (Lorenzo), and Patricia; fond aunt, cousin and friend to many. 

A visitation to honor Laura’s life will be held at 9:00 am (mass to follow at 10:00 am) on June 27, 2026 at Holy Virgin Martyrs, located at 4157 Atlantic Avenue, Schiller Park, Illinois 60176. Family and friends will gather there to celebrate and remember a remarkable woman whose warmth and kindness touched so many. In lieu of flowers, family requests a donation is Laura's memory to your preferred charity. 

Laura Battista will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who loved her. Her legacy of love and family devotion remains a guiding light for all who knew her.
