Laura Shelton, a loving and compassionate soul, passed away on December 13, 2023, in her hometown of Chicago, IL. She was born on February 16, 1964, to her mother Georgette Dowell and her late father Dennis Peterson.

Laura's warm personality touched the lives of those around her. She was known for her kind heart and gentle spirit. Her love and care for others were evident in every aspect of her life. 


Laura's greatest joy came from her family. She found happiness in being a loving companion to Willie Broom of 25 years, who shared many precious moments with her. Together they created a home filled with love and laughter. Laura was also a devoted mother to Alexis Broom and William Broom; they were the light of her life.


Laura Shelton's passing leaves a void that can never be filled. However, we find solace in knowing that she has left behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire and guide us. Her memory will forever live in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
