Lee Helen Collins

Ms. Lee Helen Collins, 77, of Glenview, Illinois, formerly of Chicago's Englewood neighborhood, made her transition to be with the Lord on July 28, 2026. She was born on May 29,1949, to the late Utress Collins and Seretha Frost-Collins.

Lee was the mother of one child, Erica.   She is also survived by her loving siblings, Rayfus George Collins, Eva Davis and Bobby Ray Collins, as well as an aunt to nieces Lois Marie Blakley and Elizabeth Collins; nephews Thomas Blakley, Michael Blakley, Talarico Davis, Jason Mayfield and Nathan Collins; her sister-in-law Charlene Collins and a host of other family members and friends who will treasure her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Utress Collins and Seretha Frost Collins; her sister, Mary Earl Collins Blakley; her brother Dennis Pou; her sisters-in-law Hattie Collins and Mary Helen Mayfield; her brothers-in-law, Sebon Davis and Thomas Blakley; and her nieces Debora Blakley, Ruby Jean Blakley and Roxanne Mayfield.

Lee enjoyed a successful career as a legal analyst. She was a faithful member of Holly Bush Missionary Baptist Church.  She found great joy in engaging in political and legal discussions, shopping at Macy’s, interior decorating, listening to Motown, Stax and MALACO music by Johnnie Taylor and Aretha Franklin, gospel music; cooking traditional southern cuisine, traveling, cleaning and spending time with those she loved especially her siblings.  Her favorite Bible passages were in Genesis, Psalms, Mathew, Philippians and Revelations.
