Linda Lee King

LindaLeeKing, age 78, was called home to eternal rest on July 2,2026. Born on December 14, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, Linda was the beloved daughter of Cornelius King Sr.and Arvell King (Gray). From her earliest days in Chicago, Linda embodied a spirit of love, strength,and devotion that would define her life and touch everyone fortunate enough to know her.

As the proud matriarch of her family, Linda was the heartbeat of those she loved, a constant source of warmth, wisdom, and unwavering grace. Her life was a testament to the beauty of family, and her legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Lindais survived by her brother Cornelius King Jr., three loving children: son,Terrance Lee King; daughter, Linda Lee King; and son, Robert King. She is also lovingly survived by a host of grandchildren: Whitney Sharae King, Krystal Starlette Krstevski (King), Vinice Danielle Junior, LeKell King, Dr. Rickkay Lamar Terrance King, Joshua Holt, Jacqueline Kelley-King,Terrance "LilBo" King, Destiny Renee King,Terri Lee King, Michael Lee King, and Korey Linda Kelly King. She is further survived by a number ofc herished great-grandchildren: Prince Ricky King, Peyton Daniel Smith, Jordan Anthony King, Lavina Patricia Junior, Dekhari Ameer Owens King, Vincent King Junior III, Jerzie Nicole Henderson, Vinny Kash Junior, Lavonna Love Junior, Dallas Bo King, Carter Vincent Junior, Korey LeKell King, Cairo Dash King, Ahlani Kay King, London Lee Linda King, and Houston Aris King. Linda also leaves behind a host of extended children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, extended family, and dear friends whose lives she touched deeply.

Linda was preceded in death by her loving parents; her two sisters, Ethel Johnson(King) and Ellery "Poochie" King; her eldest son, Vincent Leslie King; her eldest daughter, Kellye Arvele King; her beloved grandchild, Vincent Davonte Junior, and her longterm partner Robert Osborn.

Linda Lee King lived a life full of love, and though her presence will be deeply missed, her spirit, her strength, and the love she poured into her family will endure for generations to come. She rests now in peace, reunited with those who went before her, watching over the family she treasured so dearly.

When Great Trees Fall

When great trees fall, rocks on distant hills shudder,lions hunker down in tall grasses, and even elephants lumber after safety.

When great trees fallin forests, small things recoil into silence, t heir senses eroded beyond fear.

When great souls die,the air around us become slight, rare, sterile.We breathe, briefly.Our eyes, briefly,see witha hurtful clarity.Our memory, suddenly sharpened, examines, gnaws on kind word sunsaid, promised walks never taken. 

Great souls die andour reality, bound to them, takes leave of us. Our souls, dependent upon their nurture, ow shrink, wizened. Our minds, formed and informed by their radiance, fall away. We are not so much maddened as reduced to the unutterable ignorance of dark, cold caves. 

And when great souls die, after a period peace blooms, slowly and always irregularly. Spaces fillwith a kind of soothing electric vibration. Our senses, restored, never to be the same, whisper to us. They existed. They existed. We can be. Be and be better. For they existed.
