Lydia Thurbush

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lydia Thurbush, 67, of Chicago’s Belmont-Cragin neighborhood on March 8, 2023.

Lydia had a wonderful sense of humor and was a great storyteller. She enjoyed spending time with her neighbors, and also loved meeting and getting to know new people. She spent many wonderful years taking care of Lilly, her beloved canine companion. Lydia was a kind-hearted woman who loved her family unconditionally, and who went above and beyond to help those she loved.

Lydia was preceded in death by her mother Pauline, her father Gregory, her brother Helmut, and her son-in-law Luis.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Victoria Vazquez and Lisa (Joel) Thurbush; cherished sisters Anna Marie (Marion), Sophia and Alexandra, and sister-in-law Beverly; treasured grandchildren Taylor and Spencer; and beloved niece and nephews Robyn, Helmut Jr., Mikhail, and Theodore.
