Maricel Victoria Casals

Maricel Victoria Casals, born on December 23, 1951, passed away on April 4, 2026, in Oak Park. She was a dedicated Registered Nurse who touched many lives throughout her career.

Maricel lived in many places over the years, including Sarasota, Miami Beach, and Tampa Florida; Kearney, New Jersey; New York City; and Santiago, Cuba. These diverse locations were all part of the story of her life.

She had a passion for reading, always eager to lose herself in books. Her love for knitting and crochet brought creativity and calm into her days. These hobbies reflected the patience and care she offered those around her.

Maricel was a loving mother to her children: Henry Anthony Casals, Jennifer Lynn Casals, and Michael Anthony Casals, as well as her daughter-in-law, Alicia Erin Casals. She will be remembered fondly by her grandchildren: Xavier Sebastian Casals, Nathaniel Michael Casals, Lolina Elizabeth Casals, and Raiden Casals. She is also remembered by her brother, Evaristo (Joe) Hernandez.
