Marina Sánchez

Con profunda gratitud por su vida, despedimos a nuestra querida madre, abuela, hermana y amiga, Marina Sánchez, de 68 años, quien partió a la vida eterna el 2 de enero de 2026 en Aurora, Illinois, de manera repentina, tras una breve enfermedad.

Marina nació en Santa María del Oro, Durango, México, hija de Andrés Sánchez y Domitila Díaz (†). Creció rodeada del cariño de una familia numerosa.

Fue esposa del fallecido Adolfo Quezada y madre de Erika, Marbella, Adolfo y Rubén. Como abuela, encontró una alegría inmensa en Michaela, Brisa, Marible, Adolfo, Alexa, Leonardo, Rodrigo y Emily, regalándoles amor, ternura y memorias que vivirán para siempre.

Durante más de la mitad de su vida, Marina hizo su hogar en Aurora, Illinois, cerca de sus hermanas, con quienes mantuvo un vínculo profundo y constante. Fue una mujer de corazón generoso, gran amiga y confidente, siempre dispuesta a escuchar, aconsejar y acompañar.

Amaba cocinar para los suyos, tejer con paciencia y llenar la casa de alegría con música a todo volumen. Su risa, su voz y su presencia permanecerán vivas en cada recuerdo compartido.

Le sobreviven sus hermanas y hermanos: Elizabeth Herrera (Ismael), Luz Mercedes Celis (Evaristo), Carmen Sánchez (Javier), Ramona Arredondo (Alfredo), María R. Gutiérrez (Silvano †) y Andrés Sánchez (Amalia). Le precedieron en la vida eterna sus hermanos Alicia, Prudencio, Salvador y Arnoldo Sánchez.

Honrando su voluntad, Marina será cremada y sus restos reposarán junto a sus padres en La Vara de San Juan, Durango, México. La misa fúnebre se anunciará en los próximos días y, posteriormente, se realizará el sepelio en el cementerio del mismo lugar.

With deep gratitude for her life, we bid farewell to our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Marina Sánchez, age 68, who entered eternal life on January 2, 2026, in Aurora, Illinois, following a sudden passing after a brief illness.

Marina was born in Santa María del Oro, Durango, Mexico, daughter of Andrés Sánchez and Domitila Díaz (†). She grew up surrounded by the love and closeness of a large family.

She was the devoted wife of the late Adolfo Quezada and a loving mother to Erika, Marbella, Adolfo, and Rubén. As a grandmother, she found immense joy in Michaela, Brisa, Marible, Adolfo, Alexa, Leonardo, Rodrigo, and Emily, sharing with them love, tenderness, and memories that will live on forever.

For more than half of her life, Marina made her home in Aurora, Illinois, close to her sisters, with whom she maintained a deep and constant bond. She was a woman with a generous heart, a trusted friend and confidante, always willing to listen, offer guidance, and provide companionship.

She loved cooking for her family, knitting with patience, and filling her home with joy with music played at full volume. Her laughter, her voice, and her presence will remain alive in every shared memory.

She is survived by her sisters and brothers: Elizabeth Herrera (Ismael), Luz Mercedes Celis (Evaristo), Carmen Sánchez (Javier), Ramona Arredondo (Alfredo), María R. Gutiérrez (Silvano †), and Andrés Sánchez (Amalia). She was preceded in eternal life by her siblings Alicia, Prudencio, Salvador, and Arnoldo Sánchez.

Honoring her wishes, Marina will be cremated, and her remains will be laid to rest alongside her parents in La Vara de San Juan, Durango, Mexico. The funeral Mass will be announced in the coming days, followed by burial at the local cemetery.
