Marvin Lester Rife

Marvin Lester Rife, 64, of West Chicago passed away on Saturday September 2, 2023.

Marvin was born on August 11, 1959, in Chicago to the late James Rife and Maggie Rife Crabtree.
Marvin is preceeded in death by his father James, stepfather Chester Crabtree, older brother
Ronald Rife and younger sister Donna Roberts. Marvin leaves behind to cherish his memory, his
sons, Thomas McKnight (Sarah), and Christopher McKnight (Nacole), a host of grandchildren
and great grandchildren. Siblings Dotty Addair, who was his best friend, Johnny Rife, Tammy
Younts, and Darian Bailey. Two very special nieces Tina Blankenship and her boys Matthew and
Franklin and Robin Kirk and her babies Conner, Jerry and Darcy and a special nephew Lincoln
Hagy. He also leaves behind a multitude of other nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.

The family would like to thank Kedzie House for their kindness, generosity, and most of all
letting Marvin stay there and create a family and be happy. We would also like to thank the
Humboldt Park Hospital for all they did, not only for Marvin but also the hospitality they
shown us while staying there.

As per Marvin’s wishes, his remains will be cremated and spread at the big rock in his favorite
hollow. A memorial service will be planned to honor his memory at a later date.
