Mattie Mae Weathersby

Mattie Mae Williams Weathersby, 75, of Chicago, Illinois, peacefully passed away on June 12, 2023.  Mattie was born in Mississippi to Ruth Mae Smith and Fred Williams, Sr. Her family migrated to Chicago, where she was raised in the Wicker Park neighborhood. Mattie worked for many years as a cook for the Cook County School District. She loved baking and was known for her delicious German Chocolate cake. Mattie had a green thumb and was especially fond of prayer plants. In addition to gardening, Mattie enjoyed elephants and playing the lottery.

Mattie is survived by her loving children Kimberly, Caron, Antionette and bonus daughter to Mini; treasured grandchildren Chandes, Pierre, Kerrion, Clifshaun, Shari, Thomas, Rae Rae, Pierre Jr., Kayleigh, Channel, Laelani, Lael and Dakota; and a host of extended family and friends.
