Melvin Evans

Melvin Evans was born on December 27, 1940, to the union of Roosevelt Evans Sr. and Luberta Evans. Melvin was educated in the Chicago Public School System. He was very bright and intelligent and had the mind of a genius with an above average IQ. At an early age Melvin confessed Christ and was baptized at Central Avenue Baptist Church. On January 2, 1964, Melvin married Ella Curstine Davis. To this union four children were born: Cindi, ( deceased) Armontel, Vanisha and Tammera (deceased). Five of Melvin’s siblings preceded him in death: Jerome (Joe), Roosevelt (Jimmy), Harold Rudolph (Be-Bop), Ronald, and Wallace. Melvin always greeted you with a big smile. He was quick to make friends and was well liked by all who knew him. He had a passion for working on cars, if it was broke he could fix it. Melvin passed away quietly on October 10, 2022. He is survived by his Son, Armontel, Sr. (Lorraine), Daughter, Vanisha , (Albert), Sisters, Gloria and Rachel, Brothers, Burton (Sharon) and Donald (Cora), Son-in-law, Philip (Cindi,deceased), his loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
