Mercedes (Orueta) Papierski

Mercedes Orueta Papierski, 95 of Chicago Illinois, formerly from Madrid Spain, passed away on May 28, 2023. Mercedes was born in Madrid Spain and moved to the United States in 1957 when she married Bernard K Papierski, who predeceased her in death.  The two were married for 52 years. Mercedes was the loving mother to Michael Edward (Susan) Papierski, Debra McClain, Carlos (Tessie Santiaco) Papierski. She was also the loving grandmother to Tyler McClain, William McClain, IV, C. Hayden McClain, Lauren Papierski, Kristin Papierski, Natalie Bernard and Jaxon Bernard. Mercedes was a book binder by trade and worked for the Wilmet Public Library for many years.  She was also an artisit and loved to paint.  She will be missed.
