Michael M. Mangiantini

August 27, 1962 — September 9, 2023

Willowbrook

After a brief illness, Michael M. Mangiantini, 61 of Willowbrook, IL passed away on September 9, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Mike is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Doreen (nee Uher) his children Michael (Cecelia Horne) and Marisa, his sister Judith (the late Andrew) Troiola, and his brother-in-law William (the late Beth) Uher, a niece and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father Eugene, his mother Patricia (nee Durack), his brother Thomas (the late Elizabeth), and his father in law William Uher, mother in law Marie (nee Patz), and brother in law Joseph Uher.

Growing up in LaGrange Park, Mike attended Brook Park grade school and graduated from Riverside-Brookfield High School in 1980. Mike had a passion for racing, participating in dozens of races at Santa Fe Speedway, some of which he won. He enjoyed playing 16” softball and spending time with close friends. Mike grew up in a family business as a hard working mechanic, and continued his career in the automotive industry in working for American Guardian Warranty Services for over the past twenty years.

Mike’s first love was his family. His greatest desire was his beautiful marriage and raising both children as a proud father, supporting each endeavor throughout their lives. Mike treasured his pets, loving each of his dogs and cats.

Mike had many friends, neighbors, and colleagues whom he cherished.  He was well known throughout the community and was always portrayed as the funniest guy around, making everyone laugh with his sarcasm and humor. Every room was lit up once Mike entered.

One of Mike’s greatest passions included hunting, which he passed on to his son.  Every year he could not wait for hunting season and the annual trip to his brother-in-law’s farm.  Mike also had a love-hate relationship with Chicago sports teams, especially the Chicago Bears, with an amusing color commentary every Sunday that entertained all his friends and family.

He will be remembered by all with love.

The family will have a memorial visitation for Mike at Hallowell & James funeral home at 1025 W. 55th Street, Countryside, IL on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.   Interment will be private.
