Remembering her -- talking, laughing, full of indignation and enthusiasm and life.

She did not want a funeral. Said that they make you remember the person as dead. She wanted people to remember her alive.
She wanted a small party.
She also loved to sing.
So we went to a Karaoke bar and instead of big sad speeches, got to say it in song.
We had the place practically to ourselves.
At first it was a little sad talking about her.
When the singing started people perked up.
By the end everyone was very happy.
I ended with the one she liked me singing the most: Smooth. I got a video.
The more I think about it, he better I feel about how good that would have made her feel.

Michele, you're one of the most honest people I've met. In a world in which there's so much hypocrisy, I found your straightforwardness delightfully refreshing, and I always looked forward to your Christmas cards.
