Milton Boyd, 73, lovingly known to family and friends as “Queen,” was born in West Helena, Arkansas and spent most of his life in Chicago, a place he truly called home. He passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026. Milton lived a life full of love, loyalty, and quiet strength, and he leaves behind countless memories that will forever live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.
Milton was the devoted and doting partner of Sharon Fry for more than 30 wonderful years. Their relationship was built on deep companionship and unwavering support. He was a proud and loving father to his daughters, Jasmine Boyd and Miya Lewis, who were the center of his world and his greatest source of pride.
He was a cherished brother to Nate Boyd, Ernetta Roper, Alice Ward, Daryl McCondichie, and Felton Boyd, and a dear friend to many who were fortunate enough to experience his warmth, humor, and steady presence. Milton also held a special place in his heart as a beloved “dog grandpa” to his two grandpups, Peaches and Stormi, who brought him joy and comfort.
Preceded in death by his parents, Earline Hodges and Milton Boyd Sr. Milton carried their legacy with dignity and strength throughout his life. He dedicated 42 years of hard work as a pipefitter, a career that reflected his strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to providing for his family.
Milton will be fondly remembered for his love of sports, his passion for travel, and his enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures. Some of his favorite moments were spent traveling to places he loved most, especially Las Vegas and San Diego, where he could relax, explore, and soak in new experiences. Above all, he will be remembered for his generous heart, his sense of humor, and the love he freely gave to those around him.
Though he is no longer with us, Milton’s spirit lives on through the lives he touched, the love he shared, and the memories that will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Chicagoland Cremation Options in Schiller Park, Illinois.
