To know Lou Cornforth was to know a woman of profound warmth, grace, and vibrant spirit. Early in life, Lou was a model and dancer with Fred Astaire Dance Studios, bringing elegance and joy wherever she went. Above all, she was a devoted mother who loved her children deeply and took great pride in the family she cherished throughout her life.
Whether she was tending to her beloved flowers, greeting parishioners at Willow Creek Church, or spending time with the countless friends she made along the way, Lou brought grace to every moment and warmth to every life she touched.
On June 11, 2026, at 91 years young, Lou passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Tara Cornforth, Pam Langguth, John Sheputis, and Mona Schuring; her adored grandchildren, Shera Langguth and Becca Olson; and her treasured great-granddaughter, Maci.
While her brother, Boyd Shelnutt, remains to carry forward her memory and family legacy, Lou is now reunited with her nine siblings who preceded her in death.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Lou's beautiful life at a later date, with memorial gatherings planned both near her longtime home and in her beloved birthplace of Alabama.
Her grace, love, and enduring spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
