Nadezhda Dimitrova Ilieva, age 78, passed away on February 22, 2026. Born on October 11, 1947 in Vidin, Bulgaria, she most recently made her home in Chicago, Illinois.
Nadezhda was the beloved wife of Zhivko Iliev for 53 years and a devoted mother to Nevena Zhivkova Angelova. She was a dear sister to George Pantev and Zoya (Dimitar Matev) Mateva, and a loving aunt to Svetoslav Pantev (Hinka Todorova), Antoniya Mateva, and Iskra Pantev (Fernando Martin).
Nadezhda had a long and dedicated career as a nurse, caring for others with kindness and compassion. She loved reading and was always willing to go out of her way to help anyone in need.
She will be remembered for her generous heart, and deep love for her family. She will be greatly missed.
