Nancy Buxbaum

Nancy Buxbaum, 71, longtime resident of Arlington Heights, passed away on March 6, 2023. Loving wife of William for 48 years, beloved mother of Daniel and Lauren, cherished sister of Barry and his wife Louise, and dear friend to many more. Nancy graduated from American University in Washington, DC with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and an extensive background in art history and architecture.  After college, she held a number of positions at Columbia University, 20^th Century Fox, and Kenyon & Eckhardt Advertising, often the first point of contact between the company and the public. She was the indispensable “gal Friday” wherever she went. She could talk to anyone, often for hours. Nancy exuded warmth and kindness, and made everyone feel like they were family. Once you became a friend of Nancy’s, you were a friend for life. Nancy loved gardening, constantly hummed the tunes of her favorite musicals, and was a voracious reader. She woke up at the crack of dawn every morning to walk her dog Sawyer, no matter the weather. Her loved ones will remember her whenever they retrace the steps of her most favorite walks in Chicago and the gardens she adored.
