Patrice Motyka

Patrice "Patsy" Ann Carroll Motyka, 74, of Vernon Hills, passed away on January 18, 2026, at Advocate Condell Medical Center.

Patrice was born on August 18, 1951, in Chicago to Richard Carroll and Rosemary (Fineran) Carroll. She attended William Rainey Harper College from 1969 to 1972.

On January 24, 1972, Patrice married (former husband) Don F. Motyka. Together they raised two children, son Brian and daughter Meghan. Throughout her career, Patrice worked in various accounting departments and retired in 2010 after her tenure at W.W. Grainger.

Patrice was an avid seamstress who loved to travel, but she especially cherished spending time at her Woodhaven Lakes cabin with family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Brian Motyka; her daughter, Meghan Fay (Thomas Willoughby); her grandchildren, Kelsey and Jack Motyka, Ethan and Logan Fay; her brother, Terrence “Terry” Carroll (Lydia); and many cousins and extended family members.

Patrice was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Kevin “KC,” Dennis, and Sean, as well as many other beloved family members and friends.

At Patrice’s request, no funeral or visitation services will be held at this time. Memorials or donations may be made in her honor to the American Heart Association.
