Paul Louis Shaw

March 18, 1963 — March 28, 2025

Vernon Hills

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Paul Shaw of Vernon Hill, IL, on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the age of 62 after a long illness, surrounded by his family and closest friends on a sadly beautiful day.

He was born on March 18, 1963, in Salinas California, the son of Jim and Dotty Shaw. He leaves behind his beloved wife Karen Shaw, together over 40 years; his children Joshua (Jennifer) Shaw of Lindenhurst IL, Jeremy (Randi Strohl) Shaw of Round Lake, IL, his cherished grandchildren, Makenna Shaw, Jaxxon Shaw and Addyson Strohl, his mother Dotty Shaw of Hillsboro, WI and beloved members of his extended family including the Perkins of St Louis MO and The Revels of Hillsboro WI.

Paul had a love of all things mechanics and auto racing. He got his boys into go-kart racing at young ages. He used racing to teach life lessons to his children and friends and all who would listen. His garage became a schoolhouse to share knowledge of mechanics and home improvements and later simply for fun with family and loved ones over the occasional afternoon bloody mary.

Paul will always be missed for his quick wit and sly humor. That legacy continues to emanate through Josh and Jeremy and even more so through his grandchildren.

To honor his specific wishes, there will not be a formal funeral or service. Plans for a private celebration of life will be made later and communicated accordingly.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Czech National Cemetery (personal checks only) c/o 22100 Cedar St, Yuba, WI 54634.

Arrangements entrusted to Chicagoland Cremation Options, Schiller Park, IL
