Paul Mullin Stevenson

October 13, 1957 — January 21, 2024

Paul Mullin Stevenson, born October 13th, 1957, sadly passed away on January 21st, 2024 at Swedish Covenant Hospital at 66 years old surrounded by his wife, Barbara, daughter, Emma, and her partner, Andy.

Paul is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughter, Emma, and his five siblings: Scott (Meg), Robbi (Chuck), Sandy (Joan), Todd (Jane), and Beth. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Stevenson, and father, Wayne Stevenson.

Paul graduated from Western Illinois University in 1981 with a degree in Business. He married his wife Barb in 1983 and brought his daughter, Emma, into the world in 1990.

He was a caring, funny, social, and proud man who loved his family and friends. Most people describe Paul as the funny one, always ready with a sarcastic comment or joke to light up the room. He genuinely loved to be around people and made an effort to make everyone feel like they mattered. Paul was the loudest one at Emma’s gymnastics meets with many of her

teammates remembering his Iowa cheers and getting the crowd riled up. He was unapologetic about the amount of photos and videos he took and enjoyed being in them himself, always asking “was I the best one?”

Paul was extremely proud of his daughter Emma and loved to support her throughout her academic and athletic career. Him and Barb attended almost all of her gymnastics meets no matter the distance and weather.

Outside of being a superfan, Paul enjoyed playing volleyball, singing in the praise band at First United Methodist Church, and fostering dogs with his wife Barb. He was very musical and loved learning new songs on the piano and playing anytime he had the chance. He loved relaxing to a rerun of Seinfeld, Andy Griffin, and Everybody Loves Raymond, often belly laughing that filled the house. He was a very active person and enjoyed being surrounded by his friends and family.
