Paul L. Volpe, age 81, US Army veteran of Lake Zurich and formerly of Lakeview, at rest on Saturday, June 27, 2020.
This family man who is already sorely missed, was known and loved by many names, Dad, Daddy, Grandpa, Paulie, Saint Paul, Old Man, Pops, Poppa.
He was one of the good ones, a helper, a teacher and a caregiver, doing it all with a sense of humor. With his can do attitude, he was a jack of all trades and master of most. The family motto: I cut it twice and it’s still too short!
He was an athlete-Softball, Hockey, Bowling, Horse Shoes, the dreaded Jarts and had a mean Cannonball splash. An avid sports enthusiast-White Sox, Blackhawks, Da Bears, Bulls and recent Cubs fan. A fun lover of Poker, Skit Skat, Michigan Rummy, pitching quarters, horseshoes, model airplanes and boats.
Although he is gone from this earth too soon, he will never be forgotten. He lives on, along with the woman he shared his life with, his family and friends; in our memories, our stories and our laughter.
Beloved husband of the late Donna (2010). Loving father of Dawnn (Peter) Basaraba, David (Maggie) Bieszke, Paula (Ron) Schroeder and Lisa Volpe-Bushati. Cherished Pops of Christopher, Alex, Nathan, Kevin and Natalie; Great-Grandfather of Andy and Haylee. Dear brother of Mary (the late Zeke) Crement and the late Nancy (the late Jack) Piazza. Fond uncle and friend. Retired heating and air technician at Economy Heating.
Arrangements entrusted to Chicagoland Cremation Options of Schiller Park, Illinois.
