Peter Grimm Malone

Peter G. Malone, 91, of Saint Charles and Park Ridge, IL, passed away peacefully on August 11th 2026. Grandson of the late W.H. Malone, second mayor of Park Ridge. Educated at Maine Township High School (in modern vernacular, Maine East) and MIT (The Massachusetts Institute of Technology), member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Dear brother to the late Wm. H. Malone II (Susan), and the late Ethelee Malone Carlson (Kenn). Survived by his loving wife of 70 incredible years, Betty Irene Filpula. Beloved father to Lynn Thomas, Peter J. Malone (Julie) and Diane Malone (Mark Davidson). Cherished grandpa to Brian Lawler, Christopher Lawler, Rachel Borizani (Andi), Dallas Davidson, and Ross Davidson. Survived by many nieces and nephews and their children. Peter was a reservist in the Marine Corps, a former Park Ridge Alderman and served for about twenty years on the Zoning/Planning Commission there. He was involved in the creation of the Park Ridge Historical Society and was dedicated to it thereafter. Peter was a devoted Mechanical Design Engineer with concentrations in automotive and air quality specialities and an ASHRAE member. He was a life-long auto racing enthusiast, life member of SCCA and involved in the genesis of Road America in Elkhart Lake. WI. He enjoyed drum and bugle corps and acted as a driver for the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps for many years. He was a member of Gideon's International, loved Christ, and was an active member of the Grace Bible Church of Rolling Meadows.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Grace Bible Church of Rolling Meadows or Tunnel To Towers Foundation in Peter's memory.

The Malone family is grateful for the care provided by Hearthwood Senior Living in Bartlett and the assistance, counsel and services provided by Traditions Hospice.
