Petra Falk

Petra Falk (née Aguina), 79, of Elk Grove Village, formerly of Chicago, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

A devoted nurse, Petra spent the final years of her career at Hines VA Hospital, where she was widely respected for her compassion, dedication, and service to veterans.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph Sr and Frances (Romero) Aguina, and her brother, Rudolph Aguina Jr.

Petra was the beloved mother of Kimberly Sowell and Gary Sowell Jr; dear sister of Delphine (Fred) Behrmann, Angela (Francisco) Ruiz, and John (Stella) Aguina. She was a cherished grandmother to David, Justin, Ashley, Jake, Blake, and Ashliana, and a loving great-grandmother to Sebastian and Leonardo. Petra was also a fond aunt, cousin, and loyal friend to many.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.

Mass to celebrate the life of Petra will be held August 2, 2025 at 10am
