Rafael Leyva

Rafael Leyva, originally from Guanajuato, Mexico, passed away in Norridge, IL on August 28, 2025.

Rafael came to the United States 40 years ago, first settling in California for 10 years where he proudly served as a firefighter. He later made Illinois his home, working as a forklift operator at a plastics company until retirement.

He had 5 siblings and was the last of them to pass. Rafael remained especially close to his nephews, Miguel and Adrian Corral, the sons of his late sister Pureza.

Rafael will be remembered for his dedication to hard work, his loyalty to family, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life.

He will be cremated, and no services are planned at this time.
