Richard Henry Griesmann

Richard Henry Griesmann of Chicago, entered his eternal rest in his home at the age of 77 on Sunday, December 25, 2022.

Richard was born December 11th, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois to Henry and Anna
Griesmann. He was a loving and devoted husband to Linda Griesmann (Ferbrache), and celebrated 55 years of marriage together this year, cherished father to Laura (Dave) Schmitt, Thomas (Lisa) Griesmann, and Lisa (Patrick) Peterson.

Beloved grandfather to Paige (Timothy) Angeliu & Amanda Peterson, Hanna & Noah Schmitt, and Justin & Emma Griesmann.

Loving brother to Robert (Kathy) Griesmann, Ginny Horne, and Gloria Edwards. Caring brother-in-law to Sharon DeBello, Carol Thorson, and Michael Ferbrache. Fond uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Richard graduated from Lane Tech High School in 1963. He was dedicated to his work at Guardian Metal Sales, Inc. where he was a metal slitter for over 40 years.

Richard was an avid reader, and especially loved reading James Patterson books. He had a passion for gardening, cooking, completing 1,000+ piece puzzles and playing games especially with his grandchildren (who he would always let win).

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Anna Griesmann and sister Shirley Olivarez.

A memorial service will be Friday, January 6th from 9am -11am, followed by Worship Service at 11am Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church – 8600 W. Lawrence Ave, Norridge, IL 60706

Revelations 21:4 He will wipe away all tears from their eyes. There will be no more death, no more grief or crying or pain. The old things have disappeared.
