Richard Lizars

Richard Lawrence Lizars, 69, of Oswego IL, passed away March 5th 2024 after a long health battle. 

Rick was born on February 20th 1955 in Chicago to Joan & Richard Lee. 

Rick is survived by his daughter Eliza Lizars, his step daughter Deb Elam, his grand daughter Isabel Lizars, his half brother Tom Tinman, his mother Joan Wirkus (nee Conlan), and his step father Arthur Wirkus. He was preceded in death by his wife Judy, his step son David, and his father Richard Lee. 

Rick was an avid learner, lover of sports (Go CUBS Go), a chef, an artist, a photographer, and most important of all - a friend. He loved making genuine connections with those around him. He will be remembered by many with a smile and a story. From his high school adventures, to many hours logged at Crawford Station and time with ComEd, to his culinary days at CHIC, and retired life - he developed friendships that he treasured. His legacy will continue on as we share his stories, and hold him in our hearts.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
