Richard Wayne Rees

Richard Wayne ("Dick") Rees of River Forest, IL (previously Charlotte, NC), passed away May 7, 2024 at the age of 86. Dick honorably served his country as a Commander for the US Naval Reserves. He retired in Charlotte, NC, after a longtime career as a transportation executive. Dick was an avid golfer and enjoyed time with his friends and family. He enjoyed debating the tepid topics of religion, politics, and public policy.

He is survived by his six children Doug (Lynn) Rees, Kristin (David Haag) James, John Rees, Tom (Angel) Rees, Melinda (Henrik) Jahn, and Nancy (Zeke) Alexander; grandchildren Stephen, Madeleine, Allison, Megan, Joe, Luke, Dalton, Emily, William, Kate, Anna, and John; his brother Dale (Marian) Rees, and his first wife, Ingrid Brown Rees. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; his second wife, Arlene Troyer Rees; and his older brother Grant (Shirley) Rees.

Family services will be held Saturday, July 27th, near Reno, Nevada.
