Robert "Bob" Kimmerle

Mar 8, 1938 — Oct 15, 2026

Robert “Bob” Kimmerle, 88, passed away on October 15, 2026, leaving behind a loving family, a wide circle of friends, and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Born in the Bronx, New York, to Alice McGarry Kimmerle and Frederick Kimmerle, Bob was raised in Ridgewood, New Jersey. He attended St. Peter’s Prep and Seton Hall University, where he developed a lasting commitment to service, friendship, and community.

Bob shared more than 50 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Anita Marie Kimmerle, who passed away on May 16, 2019. Anita was the love of his life, and the life they built together remained one of his greatest joys.

He was the proud father of three daughters, Kate, Molly, and Beth; a loving grandfather to six grandchildren, Leah, Michael, Meghan, Haley, William, and Cliff; and a great-grandfather to Isaiah, Maya, and George.

Bob and Anita spent much of their lives in Evanston, Illinois, where they raised their family and were devoted parishioners of St. Mary’s Church. Their faith and involvement in the parish were an important part of their lives and the community they called home.

Bob enjoyed a distinguished career in advertising, bringing his outgoing personality, natural salesmanship, and remarkable ability to connect with people to publications including Forbes, Road & Track, and Inc. Whether in the office, traveling for work, or enjoying a round of golf, Bob was always on the move. His enthusiasm, humor, and genuine interest in others made a lasting impression on everyone he met.

A lifelong music enthusiast, Bob had a particular love for church choirs, jazz, and singing at full volume. As a member of the St. Mary’s parish choir, he found great joy in sharing his love of music and faith with others. Music was a constant source of happiness in his life, and he was never one to pass up an opportunity to sing along.

Above all, Bob treasured the relationships he built throughout his life. His close-knit circle of friends and colleagues spanned generations, backgrounds, and walks of life. He had a gift for making people feel valued and welcomed, and he believed deeply in the importance of friendship, generosity, and showing up for others when it mattered most.

Bob will be remembered for his warmth, larger-than-life personality, love of music, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the memories shared by those who knew and loved him.
