Rosa Diaz, 95, of Chicago and originally of La Esperanza, Las Villas, Cuba, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, November 17th.
Beloved wife of Manuel for 70 years. Loving mother of Vivian (Frank) Amato and Pablo (Christina) Diaz. Grandmother of Phillip (Mary) Amato, Manny Amato, Michael Diaz and Eric Diaz. Great grandmother of Frankie and Jack Amato. Sister of Eutimia Garcia and Celida Egues. Rosa was predeceased by her parents, Oscar and Silveria (Sanchez) Egues, an older sister, Evarista Gonzalez, and a younger brother, Amado Oscar Egues. She was a special person, dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
As a young woman in Cuba, Rosa was a grade-school teacher and skilled seamstress. After she arrived in the United States, Rosa worked for Bankers Life and Casualty Company for over 30 years.
Rosa was selfless in her love and care for her family. She was always positive and calm.
