Samuel Purnell, 67, of Summit, formerly of Lyons and Chicago's South side unexpectedly transitioned January 16, 2025. Beloved son of DeVelma and the late William Purnell. Loving father of Dion, Samuel, Raymond, Joseph and the late Alex. Cherished brother of Karen, Connie, Crystal, Chevom, William (Gail), Janice (Keith Satterfield) Purnell, Theresa (Richard Lee Sr.) Brown, and Walter McNabb. Fond uncle of Kristen, Keenan, Dashay, SharMeka, Dwand, Khalil, Eligahm Christina, Kamari, Zion, Jessica (Brendon) Wright, Tasha, Samara (Shamal) and Ruichard (Tinin) Jr.. Great uncle of Myah, Shamal, Elija, and Aliza Lloyd, Teshawn, Saphira, Kayla, and Jayce. Retired package handler with FedEx. A memorial service will be held at a later date/time.
