Schuyler ‘Skip’ Allman (85) passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 12, 2026. He was born on September 19, 1940, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Schuyler Allman and Nadine Shroyer.

Skip spent his youth in San Francisco going to 49ers and Giants games and has hundreds of autographs to prove it. This began his life-long love of sports.

His father’s career with the Associated Press brought the family from San Francisco to Port Washington, Long Island NY for his high school years where he played football and ran track. Skip attended Oklahoma University where he earned a track scholarship after walking on to the team. He enjoyed academic success as a journalism major and was named “Mr. Journalism” his junior year. He also enjoyed his brotherhood in the Sigma Chi fraternity where he took a turn as the social chair - a role that he also excelled in.

After his time at OU Skip moved back to New York, enlisted in the Marine Reserves and married Lynn Haussermann. Together they had three children Natalie Dumstorff, Kimberly Keyser and Charles ‘Chip’ Allman (deceased).

Skip joined JCPenney and enjoyed a successful 34-year career winning several prestigious awards as a store manager. His career relocated the family from Long Island New York to Connecticut, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Mansfield OH and Skaneateles NY. After his retirement from JCPenney in 1998 he jumped at the chance to get back to Mansfield, Ohio to become the Executive Director for the United Way of Richland County, a role he held for 12 years. He loved building community connections and supporting those less fortunate in life.

After retirement from the United Way, Skip found his way to Chicago where he got to spend time with family and make new lasting friendships.

Skip outlived many friends and family including his son Charles ‘Chip’ Allman and ex-wife Lynn (Haussermann) Allman. He is survived by his daughters, Natalie (Pat) Dumstorff, Kimberly (Kevin) Keyser, son-in-law Keith Allman Burgard and four grandchildren Caitlynn Keyser, Robert Keyser, Luke Dumstorff, and Evan Dumstorff. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be deeply missed.

Skip loved life. He loved his family, the Oklahoma Sooners, the Marines, golf, and a good party. He had a gift connecting with people, forming close friendships and leaving lasting impact wherever life took him.

For all who loved Skip, his infectious optimism, boundless energy, and remarkable ability to inspire others will forever be cherished. Whether it was finding humor in the smallest moments or spreading joy wherever he went, Skip's legacy is one of unwavering positivity and kindness.

To honor our dad, we will be memorializing him in a way that reflects the places that shaped him and brought him joy. We will be bringing his ashes home to places he loved including, Mansfield, Ohio; Skaneateles, NY; Norman, Oklahoma; San Francisco, CA; and Long Island, NY.
