Sheila (Sieracki) Melton, beloved wife, stepmother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on February 25, 2026, at the age of 75, after bravely fighting pancreatic cancer. Born on February 2, 1951, Sheila grew up in Mundelein, Illinois, and lived in Libertyville, Illinois, Naples, Florida, and most recently Huntley, Illinois. She lived a life defined by love, strength, kindness, and deep devotion to her family, friends, and community.
Sheila was known for her warm heart, generous spirit, and especially for her wonderful cooking. She found great joy in bringing people together around the table, showing her love through meals shared with family and friends. Holidays, celebrations, and everyday moments were made special because of her care, thoughtfulness, and the comfort she created in her home. She had a natural ability to make everyone feel welcome, offering laughter, encouragement, and kindness to all who knew her. Sheila also enjoyed playing Mahjong with her friends, cherishing the laughter and companionship those times brought. She had a wonderful sense of style and was always beautifully put together, carrying herself with grace, confidence, and warmth. Her generosity extended beyond her family, as she gave freely to charities and to those around her, always looking for ways to help others.
Her greatest joy was her family, especially her nieces, nephew, great-niece, great-nephews, and her grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as “Grandma Kiki.” She adored each of them and was incredibly proud of the people they were becoming. Those who knew Sheila will remember her for her resilience, her sense of humor, and her unwavering love for the people in her life. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, loyalty, and strength that will continue to live on through all who loved her.
Sheila is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, Brian; their children, Jacquelyn (Matt) Cooper, Jill (Matt) Gosz-Thomas, and Chris (Amy) Melton; her brother, Raymond (Audrey) Sieracki; her sisters, Shelley (Bill) Martin and Sharon (Rick) Jakle; her nine beloved grandchildren, Bryleigh and Cameron Cooper; Evan, Caden, and Emersyn Gosz; Haley, Taylor, Brian, and Jack Melton; her nieces and nephew, Kelly Sieracki, Michelle (Rob) Sawchuk, Bryan (Hayley) Martin; her great-niece and great-nephews, Maddie and Everett Sawchuk, and Charlie and Owen Martin; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Services will be held at a later date, with additional details to be shared by the family.
She will be forever loved and never forgotten.
