Stephen Barrix, age 76, passed away on May 30, 2026. He is survived by
his children, Charles (Lisa) Barrix, Carrie (Jeff) Counter-Staedt, and
Earl (Kristen) Counter; and his beloved grandchildren, Alexandra (Max)
Christiansen, Candice (Dan) Roth, Alan (Ella) Staedt, Tori (Nicholas)
Lehrer, Coco Counter, and Frances Counter. He joins his late wife,
LaVergne Counter-Barrix, along with his sisters, Marsha Barrix and Sue
Hooper and daughter Missy Barrix, in eternal rest. A proud Vietnam
Veteran and dedicated employee of Oak Lawn Toyota for 38 years, Steve
was known for his love of fishing, cooking, and cheering on his
favorite NASCAR drivers. A service will be held on June 27th at 12:00
noon at Hillcrest Cemetery, Six Lakes, MI, followed by a luncheon at
2:00 p.m. at Flat River Saloon.
