Steven Andrew Gorro

Steven Andrew Gorro, 71, a longtime resident of Woodridge, IL, passed away from cancer on July 21, 2023, with his devoted daughter and son by his side.

Steve was born in the Green Briar area of Chicago, IL, on November 4th, 1951, to his loving parents, John and Anna Gorro. He enjoyed talking with people and had many jobs during his life, including being a band promoter, where he booked gigs in the Chicagoland area. He would talk about the Thirsty Whale and getting to see famous bands in their infancy. Steve always had great stories to tell.

Before he retired to be a full-time caretaker for his wife, he was the successful owner of Midwest Sales and Marketing. He was active in the community by volunteering his time to the Village IV organization in Woodridge, where he lived for over 30 years.

Steve was preceded in death by his wife, the great love of his life, Donna Marie Gorro (née Phillips), and his parents, John and Anna Gorro. He is survived by his daughter, Kathrine Dixon (Frank),  grandchildren Andrea Lynn and Frankie Jr., his son Joshua Habdas, and his sister, Pamela Gorro.
