Sue Fyans

Sue (Schlenker) Fyans, 93, passed away February 10th, 2025, at Alden Terrance Nursing Home, McHenry, Illinois. 

Sue was born August 6, 1931, in Mount Carmel, Illinois, to Naida Schlenker. 

 Sue married Reuven Gold in 1960 and they met while attending PHD Sociology classes at the University of Chicago. Sue remarried Jack Fyans in 1970.

Sue worked as a Case Manager for 34 years in the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation for the State of Illinois. 

Sue became an equestrian as a little girl. She loved caring for and training her animals throughout her life. Sue was also an accomplished and profitable artist and a big fan of Bob Ross. 

Sue is survived by her son, Ari Gold (Joni) of Hutchinson, Kansas; son-in-law, Calvin Aden, grandchildren Zach Weir, Vanessa Hayes, and Christopher Weir and many great grandchildren. 

Sue was preceeded in death by her spouses and daughter, Cheryl/Sharonna (Gold) Aden.
