Thomas "Tommy" Steven O'Donnell Hoffman, 84, passed away on May 11, 2023. Tommy was the devoted and loving husband of Marilyn (Miller) Hoffman. The two met when Lisa (Marilyn) fell down the stairs during a class on miracles. Together they celebrated 33 years of marriage. He was also the beloved brother of Susan Rubenstien, who preceeded him in death, and the loving caretaker of their dog, Sam Hoffman, and cats Maggie Maggore and Molly McGuire. Tommy had a wide career path. He began by owning three stores on Oak Street including a shoe store, bar, and beauty shop. He entered the real estate market and then became the Manager at Arlington International Racetrack. His last position before retirement was working with the Illinois Secretary of State in the fraud unit.
"Once a Marine, always a Marine," Tommy proudly served in the USMA as a Marine Private 1st Class. His passion for his country and for politics led him to be involved as a fundraiser for form President Barack Obama's campaign during his Illinois Senatorial run. He and Lisa held a black tie Christmas party every year. His smile was always "as big as his bowtie."
Tommy adored so many and contributed with his whole heart to the precious people he shared his life with, as well as his country. He will be missed, and always loved, by many.
